Lead in managing the needs of campuses and administrative departments regarding student system input and output requirements. The successful candidate should be a decision-maker in business process change and ready to implement changes as required by the state, District policy, regulations, or as integrations become necessary for data reporting to third-party applications. This position will require a high level of integrity in the areas of data management and accuracy, reporting, and integrated projects. Will also serve as the main support, trainer, system manager, back-up, and resource for anything related to the Student Information System (SIS).
Education/Certification:
High School Diploma or GED required
Some college preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Experience managing the front-end user tool in a student information system (SIS)
Ability to develop support materials and effectively train campus personnel
Knowledge of computer hardware and software applications
Ability to work independently and to be self-motivated
Ability to quickly and efficiently problem solve and troubleshoot software and user issues
Proven experience in meeting just in time requirements related to data requests, automation needs, project leadership, policy change, training and support
Ability to adapt and be flexible in meeting the daily needs of campuses and District departments
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Experience:
Experience in a campus/administrative student data support position
Application Support:
Maintain a working knowledge of SIS interaction.
Support integrated third-party software programs such as PowerSchool Registration, Parchment, Eduphoria, School Messenger, Laserfiche Workflows, Frontline, etc.
Support system maintenance, building set-ups, user security management, and reporting within the SIS.
Processes and Reports:
Contribute to proactive planning activities and priority projects.
Maintain cooperative work relationships with District and campus personnel to ensure best support of overall solutions and designs.
Utilize data validation strategies to ensure accurate information reporting for campuses including manipulating data using MS Excel, performing advanced searches in the SIS, and writing Cognos reports as requested.
Make recommendations for changes in the SIS based on state laws, regulations, and house bill provisions.
Support large scale inter-departmental and District projects such as summer school, summer registration, Student Information Systems automations, PowerSchool registration, curriculum projects, Laserfiche integrations, career plan, etc.
Training and Support:
Train and support campus and administrative users on best practices to input, verify, make changes to, and extrapolate data using the SIS.
Determine training needs for existing data clerks.
Serve as campus back-up for campus data clerks in the event of a long-term absence.
Evaluate the skill set of campus data clerks and registrars for placement into a candidate pool.
