Education/Certification:
High school diploma or GED
Some college preferred
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred

Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills

Work with teachers to plan and implement evening grade level parent involvement programs throughout the year.
Help facilitate the application process for supplemental services such as food stamps, housing, utility assistance, clothing, transportation, after school care scholarships and medical care.
Organize orientations for parents of new students and testing information sessions for parents.
Plan parenting education programs and teach classes on a variety of parenting topics.
Access community resources and serve as a liaison to outside agencies (Small World, Clothe a Child, Frisco Family Services, Assistance League, YMCA and other agencies).
Maintain a parenting education activities page on the school website and encourage parent participation in various school and community programs and services.
Assist counselor, nurse, and administrators by contacting parents.
Accompany counselor and/or teachers on home visits.
Support teachers and administrators by attending student conferences and ARD meetings, calling parents, and preparing written or email communications as needed.
Monitor and supervise individual and small groups of students.

Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals. Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting. Repetitive hand motions including frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching. Occasional lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. May work prolonged or irregular hours; occasional district wide travel. Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress.
